I have many great memories of my early life in Greenbelt... My mom reading to me teaching me how to count to 100 and to read, my dad taking me for regular walks through the woods, and repeatedly responding to my requests to wind up my plastic train... boy was that thing ever hard to wind up, dinner at the card table, the hot pole in the kitchen, the little closet under the stairs, my trundle bed that rolled under Pam's bed in our bedroom, listening to dad 'fake' snoring in the other room middle of the night to let me know that they were there... (I'm sure it was fake). Oddly enough, when Heather and I started to date we discovered that 10 years later, she would grow up at the end of Plateau Place less than one block from where I had grown up. Very interesting... |
